Happy Mardi Gras!

This was our first Mardi Gras at the shop and we survived! We really did not know how many King Cakes we would sell and it is safe to say we exceeded expectations. It did help that this was a long carnival season. We dropped off 20 King Cakes at Whole Foods Pearl St on Lundi Gras and they were sold out by Mardi Gras morning! Jake is ready for a King Cake break as they are time consuming to make. He did a great job this year!

I got a phone call from a customer who sent a King Cake to her Aunt in Arizona. Turns out her Aunt was born and raised in NOLA and said our King Cake was the best one she had ever had. Being a native myself, that is just about the best compliment we can get!

It's been a year!?!?

Yes, it's been almost a year since our last post. What has happened in that time?
1. The cake shop opened

2. We had a baby (What?!)

While that is no excuse for neglecting our blog, it is the only one we have!
So now it is almost March and almost Mardi Gras. We are selling King Cakes this year, so get your order in soon for Tuesday March 8th.
