What a way to start off the new year. I just got my ticket today to go to New Orleans for the Super Bowl, yes New Orleans, not Miami. Cause let me tell you win or lose the party will be happening in NOLA.
It is hard to put into words what winning a football game can do for a city. Luckily, a high school friend just happened to have a blog about this very thing. Actually her brother wrote the blog after the Saints played in Atlanta on Monday night football after Katrina. It was the first game back in the dome after all the tragedy that was hurricane Katrina. Now on to some cake news. Kim and Jake's Cakes was supposed to open in August of 2009. Our former contractor damaged the property, quit and filed bankruptcy. This all started in July, we were still hoping to be open by September, then November and now here we are in January. We have been hanging on to our sanity by a thread. BUT this is 2010. The Saints are going to the Super Bowl. This is the year of miracles right? Well, we signed with our new contractor last week, got our new building permits yesterday and "should" be open in 4-6 weeks. After all the drama we are pretty darned excited to be moving forward again.
